New Universal-Mount Version of Trompeter’s Testing & Monitoring Module Enables Broader Deployment of DS3 Data Rates – Latest addition to the M4FlexTM Mix ’n Match Media Management Solution for Premise/Enterprise and Outside Plant Network Connectivity – MESA, AZ (May 18, 2006) --- Trompeter, the leading provider of interconnect solutions for the telco central office, introduces the TMM-2 Inline Test and Monitor Module in a universal mount subpanel (UM) that fits all of the Trompeter M4Flex packaging solutions for premise wiring. The TMM-2 is designed for location testing of DS3 digital signals routed through telco central offices, outside plant installations, and premise/enterprise wiring closets. The TMM-2UM is the latest in a series of modular connectivity solutions in Trompeter’s M4Flex mixed media interconnect system, which enables network managers to streamline the handoff between external and internal networks by doing away with single purpose point-of-termination equipment. As the options for acquiring voice, data, and video communications continue to expand, broadband users now have access to a high-reliability signal quality monitoring interface previously available only for the telco central office. Both providers and users of broadband networks can now quickly determine which side of the handoff point is the source of performance problems without having to disrupt service to end users. “The TMM-2UM enables both network managers and service providers to quickly isolate the cause of poor signal performance in complex, mixed-media communications networks” said Dale Reed, vice president of sales and marketing for Trompeter. “As telecom providers move into providing high capacity services, this new carrier-class monitoring module improves reliability on both sides of the network’s edge.” The TMM-2 provides BNC ports on the rear of the module for connections to both sides of the network, providing a normal-thru path for the DS3 circuits. The front panel is equipped with two monitor ports and two network access ports in WECo series patch format. Each monitor port presents a –20db signal, ensuring error-free monitor capability. Circuit loop back for the client is easily accomplished with any 75 ohm “hair-pin” (looping plug) by inserting both barrels into the two center test access jacks. The TMM-2UM is available for purchase now, and sells for $97 in quantities of 250 units. For more information on ordering and volume pricing quotes, call 800-982-2629 |
